“Seth!
Get your butt over here and help me fold the laundry!” Anette called out in her
large apartment and waited for her sons answer.
“But
Mom, I just got home from school, I am tired!”
“Your
excuses does not work with me, I expect you to help me when Johan is not home!”
“Fine!”
came a short reply as the twelve year old opened his bedroom door and walked
towards the living room, where his Mom held Mio in one arm and the laundry
basket in the other.
“You
start while I put Mio down on his play mat.” Anette said and put the basket
down on the table before she carefully lay her youngest son down on the floor
with his favorite toys. He gave a loud sound of protest, but soon quieted down
as Anette handed him a fluffy lamb, his favorite at the moment. The boy grabbed
on to the soft toy and started chewing on one of its legs.
“There
you go sweetie, Mommy will be done soon.”
Anette
straightened up, grabbed onto a pair of jeans and started folding.
Another
door slammed in the distance, but this time, the sound of much lighter feet
could be heard.
“Mommy!”
“What
is it, Nemo?”
The
three year old appeared in the doorframe with a sweater tied in a knot over his
shoulders, looking suspiciously like a cape.
“Mommy,
FLY!” Nemo yelled and jumped up and down with his arms in front of him.
“But
Mommy has been flying with you all day, sweetie, and now she is tired.”
The
sad pout on her son’s lips almost made her cave. Almost…
“But
Mooooooooommy!”
“No
Nemo, you have to wait, Mommy is busy.” she said calmly and put the last of the
laundry in the pile in the middle of the table before she crouched down to
check on Mio.
“I
am done, can I go play videogames now?” Seth asked as he picked up his newly
washed t-shirts.
“Yes
of course, thanks for the help.”
Anette
watched as Seth disappeared down the corridor before she turned to the toddler
on the play mat.
She
sat her son up and picked up a small, red ball that she carefully threw into
his lap. Mio giggled and grabbed onto the toy before he tried to throw it
himself, but his grip loosened and the ball landed in his lap again.
“Come
on sweetie, you can do it. Throw it to Mommy!”
Mio
squealed and started hitting on the toy. The ball moved slowly and with a
little help of his feet, the boy managed to kick it towards his mother,
jiggling his small body in the process.
Anette
caught the ball and praised her son for succeeding.
Suddenly
she heard a loud thud and turned around.
The
large pile of folded laundry had somehow ended up on the floor. Anette’s eyes
landed on the culprit, a small boy with a cape over his shoulders.
“Now
Mommy fly!”
Anette
rolled her eyes before she rose from the ground and bent forward to pick up her
three year old. She put one hand over his chest and the other one on his knees,
and leaned him forward. She lifted him to her waist level and started swinging
him back and forward. When he started to giggle, she lifted him higher and
moved him up and down.
“Yep, just another wonderful day.” Anette thought as she kissed her son on the cheek
before she put him down and returned to the laundry on the floor, folding it
with a big smile on her lips.

This might be the fluffiest story I've ever written! It's so cute, I had to calm myself down while I wrote this.
I'm not used to writing fluff, so review please :)
I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe angel you have in your profile, have you draw it yourself? And if you haven't, where did you find it? I really love it! :)
ReplyDeleteI found it on deviantArt a couple of years ago, but I forgot to save the original link to it :(
